Chlorophyll

He woke unrested, outer mind calcified with yesterday’s woes; a dirty, splintered surface that ground against the inside edges of his skull.  There in the dark he gazed hollowly, holding his eyelids open to let in a little light.  And the plants pitied him and reached their slender arms inside the opened bathroom window, offering a damp green cooling compress to sooth; renew his view.
